Creativity knows no boundaries. The constant exploration of new frontiers is fundamental to Exploration Theatre. In its past twenty years, Exploration Theatre has created numerous exciting collaborations and inspiring works. Back in 1986, The Best Playwright won awards for Best Performance, Best Script and Best Director. In 1990, the overwhelming Uprising of June 4th in Tienenmen Square was vividly depicted in the disturbing Crazy Countdown. A groundbreaking collaboration with Montreal multi-media artists in 1991 resulted in the unique fusion of technology and drama in In Mid-Air.

An innovative fusion of Chinese Opera and drama resulted in two successful collaborations, one with the Beijing Opera Society in the 10th anniversary production of Moonlight Opera in 1992, and another with renowned Cantonese opera singers starring in Timeless Love in 1998. The two-year project, involving fruitful cultural exchange performances and research in Canada, resulted in the final creation of the award-winning The Dragon's Legend, which claimed two awards and six nominations at the 6th Hong Kong Drama Awards in 1997.

The last decade has seen Exploration Theatre's work commit to creative participation and education. Its pioneering approach in using theatre in creative learning and community outreach has opened up infinite opportunities in bringing theatre to all walks of life.
